Tube Water
Do I need to "water down" my Tube watercolor paints? Do I mix it in a cup of water?
I am a little lost.... I had to get TUBE water color paints.... But to me it seems just like regular paints that I would buy in the craft section.... Do I use it like regular paint? Do I water it down? Should I put it in a cup of water and make it the color I want? Any help would be great!

On a watercolor palette or plate squeeze out a small amount about a pea size to start and dip your brush into clean water and simply dilute the paint with the water that is on your brush. That's it. The more water the more transparent or light the color gets. You are right that tube watercolor is like other paints as they come out of the tube but you do like all others mix with a thinner ( in this case water) to work with them. Also whatever paint is left on the palette that dries there can be wet again an used next time you paint. Working out of a cup is ridiculous as you can not have places to mix with other colors efficiently and working with dozens of cups on your table is nuts. That is why a palette, mixing tray or plate to start if need be. If an area or detail of your painting needs a strong color or a more saturated color you can use the paint almost full strength if you want too.
